Caption:	Black female adult wolf, with unknown current pack or birth pack.
Notes:	Both chases with contact had finished after a long fight. It was this moment where the wolf and elk met face to face. The elk kicked fiercely, but the brave wolf jumped up and caught it's throat. It was not successful penetrating the hide and was thrown. I have been around quite a few encounters like this over the years, but this might be my favorite photo do to the pure amount of wildness peaking at this particular second.
