Caption:	Black wolf with white chest mark in Hayden Valley
Notes:	Arriving here at 4:30 a.m., I heard wolves howling on both sides of the road. At around 6:30 a.m., I saw two wolves emerge from the forest northwest of me and walk to the narrow part of the Yellowstone River. A white-gray wolf swam across, then ran through the thin trees, up the hill to my right, and disappeared. Then this black wolf stopped at the edge of the river and howled several times. Finally it swam the river and followed the other wolf.
