Yellowstone's wolf packs—Phantom Lake Pack

The Phantom Lake pack was formed by wolves from 8 Mile in the spring of 2019, including 2 females (1119F, and an uncollared gray) and one black male. In winter of 2018, the black male was harvested north of the park. Three of the females briefly began to travel with males from the Crevice Lake pack. Early in 2020, the four females were observed together with 1106M, a gray male from the Wapiti Lake pack. This pack had a very successful breeding season in 2019, producing 13 pups. Two of the pups went missing in the winter and two more pups were harvested when the pack left the park in December of 2019. A recent sighting found 1106M, 1119F, and several pups, indicating the pack had at least 9 wolves in early 2020. [Updated 3/14/2020]
